When moving into aged care, you can pay for services yourself or access government subsidies, depending on your financial situation.
The Australian Government decides how much subsidy you’re eligible for based on your income and assets. This can help cover some or all of the three main types of aged care fees.

The reforms in residential aged care will introduce important changes such as new mandatory care minutes for residents, improved food standards, and stronger quality and safety monitoring. There will also be changes to how funding and subsidies are allocated.
