Wesley Mission Queensland runs yearlong gift drives for many of our services, allowing our clients the freedom to choose what feels right for them.

How it works

In a gift and goods drive, you invite family, friends and your community to donate new or gently used items, as well as physical gift cards, to support families and individuals in their most vulnerable time. It's very simple:

Drop-off locations

We kindly ask you to drop off your donations at one of the locations below. Just get in touch through the webform below, and we will share the address closest to you and any tips you might need.

Items needed most

Please also refer to our Gifting Guidelines below. It helps ensure every donated item is safe, suitable and respectful for the families we support.

Gift Vouchers

Only physical gift vouchers and gift cards.

We can only accept physical gift vouchers (no printed or electronic gift vouchers please). Popular gift vouchers include:

  • Supermarkets, for example Woolworths or Coles 
  • Department stores, for example Kmart, Big W, Target, Myer or David Jones 
  • iTunes
  • JB Hi-fi
  • Rebel Sport
  • Event Cinemas or Hoyts
  • Visa/EFTPOS

Non-perishable food

Long expiry dates and non-perishable.

Where appropriate, please ensure items have long expiry dates and are non-perishable. Try packing the food into a shopping bag or washing basket that can be reused by the recipient (it’s sustainable too!).

  • Rice, pasta and pasta sauces, curry and stir fry sauces
  • Cereals, spreads, biscuits, muesli Bars, chips
  • Water, long life and flavoured milk
  • Tinned fish, vegetables, meats, soups, fruits

School supplies

Why not donate a backpack filled with stationery?

Your help can make a huge difference to a child’s education. Why not donate a backpack filled with stationery supplies.

  • Pens, pencils, sharpener and erasers
  • Pencil case, ruler, glue stick
  • Highlighters, colouring pencils, crayons and textas
  • USBs
  • Lunch boxes, water bottles
  • Exercise and scrap books

Personal toiletries

Please make sure all donated items are new and unopened.

New and unopened only.

  • Deodorant, body wash, soap, shampoo and conditioner
  • Period products
  • Toothpaste and toothbrushes
  • Make up, moisturiser, make up remover wipes

Toys

New or in good used condition. Please nothing damaged, ripped, stained or in any way faulty.

New and unopened, or second-hand in good condition. We do not accept toys that have been scratched, written on, are incomplete, missing pieces, chewed or damaged in any way. 

We accept:

  • Wooden and plastic items
  • Jigsaw puzzles
  • Sporting equipment
  • Balls
  • Duplo, Mega Blocks, and other construction toys
  • Loose items e.g. animals, play kitchen items, etc
  • Bikes, scooters and trikes
  • Books

To keep children safe, we cannot accept:

  • Second-hand fluffy or soft toys
  • Hand-made toys
  • Toys from fast food outlets or supermarket promotions
  • Items with button batteries
  • Toys that depict violence or weapons
  • Items with sharp edges
  • Food, toxic items, latex or scented items
  • Knitted blankets

New baby items

New clothes, goods and equipment to assist our families to get a good start to family life. 

New only clothes and equipment will assist our families to get a good start to family life.

  • Nappies, baby wipes
  • Newborn baby and toddler clothes
  • Wraps, blankets, cot bedding, change mats
  • Baby wash, moisturiser, nappy cream
  • Bottles, bibs, feeding equipment

Clothing

New or in good used condition. Please nothing damaged, ripped, stained or in any way faulty.

New or quality pre-loved clothing can help us be there for people. We accept: 

  • Quality clean women’s, men’s and children’s clothing
  • Shoes
  • Accessories

Your donations should also be worth buying – if you wouldn’t buy it then we probably won’t be able to donate it.

We do not accept stained, damaged or dirt clothing.

Small household items

Small everyday items that are clean and in good condition.

New and unopened, or second-hand in good condition. We do not accept items that are damaged in any way.

Some of items we can accept:

  • Plates
  • Cutlery (butter knife only, not sharp)
  • Glasses
  • Mugs
  • Cookware
  • Kids themed

We do not accept:

  • Sharp knifes
  • Kitchen scissors
  • Furniture

Second-hand items

Please nothing broken, damaged, ripped, stained or in any way faulty. 

By donating your unwanted goods, you’re not only giving a once loved item another life, but you are also helping us give hope where it’s needed most.

  • Clothes, shoes and accessories (from babies to adults)
  • Homewares
  • Toys, bikes, books, highchairs, prams, strollers
  • Bedding
