Hosting a community event for Wesley Mission Queensland (WMQ) is a wonderful way to support vulnerable Queenslanders. Your fundraising efforts can be directed to any of our services or to an individual community program.
Simple fundraising ideas
Some simple community fundraiser ideas include:
- A morning or afternoon tea at work, home or your local cafe
- A barbecue (you could even sign up for a Bunnings BBQ – contact your local store for more information)
- A stall at your local market
- Plant sale, bake sale, homemade goods sale at your local community club
- Free dress or themed dress day with a gold coin donation at school
- Donations gifted at your fundraising birthday party

How to get started
1. Register your event
Complete our webform below to register your event.
We’ll review it to make sure it’s a safe, family-friendly activity and fits within our community guidelines, so everyone can feel welcome and supported.
2. Start planning
Once your event is approved, we’ll send you our T&Cs. When you accept, we’ll send you a Letter of Authority so you can start planning your event.
You can also create an online donation page for those who can’t attend by visiting Create an online fundraiser page.
3. Share to boost
Share your journey on social media to inspire support and boost your fundraising! We can also add your event to our Attend a Community Event webpage.
