Hi, I'm Jacquie Rogers.

I had a stroke in 2015.

After some intense rehab, I was able to do some independent living.

And that's what brought me to Wynnum Apartments.

I like that I was allowed to have a cat,

and that meant a lot to me because when I was

living in the hospital and then having to go to the nursing home,

I had to find homes for my puppy and my cat.

It makes a big difference when you get told

you can have some pets here and it made a big difference to me.

It has made.... it’s been wonderful.

I have got my pets and I love it

and I like living here because of the freedom.

We do have a buzzer

system that we can press it if we want to.

Me being a stubborn, independent person,

I try to do as much as I can myself.

So it's full 24 hours support when I need it.

It's good.

You do have your independence.

It's lovely.

It's just like home. You make it your home.

You will end up finding that you never want to leave because you are independent.

FAQs

To be eligible to live at Wynuum Apartments, you will need NDIS funding that aligns with this specific housing and support model. This includes Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) funding for a High Physical Support apartment, designed for one resident in a one-bedroom setting.

You will also require Core Supports or Home and Living funding to access Supported Independent Living (SIL) depending on your individual needs.

We can also support people with alternative funding arrangements, such as the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) or the National Injury Insurance Scheme Queensland (NIISQ).

Our team can assist you in understanding whether your current funding is suitable for this service.

WesleyCare Wynnum Apartments provides shared supports at a 1:3 ratio, as well as individual supports, with active overnight assistance to ensure support is available day and night. Our experienced team includes onsite nursing staff and qualified Disability Support Workers (Cert III), enabling us to support people with complex and high-intensity needs.

Residents are also encouraged to participate in community activities that promote independence and social connection. All supports are tailored to each person's individual needs, goals, and preferences, within a safe and supportive environment.

Yes. We provide both Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and Supported Independent Living (SIL) supports through an integrated housing and support model.

Residents live in modern, purpose-built homes and receive SIL supports from our team under a separate agreement, helping them live as independently as possible while benefiting from coordinated housing and daily supports.

We are committed to transparency and will always explain your options clearly, including any potential conflicts of interest associated with providing both SDA and SIL, so you can make an informed choice.

We work closely with residents, their families and support networks, and relevant providers to coordinate supports that reflect each person's individual needs, goals, and preferences. This collaborative approach helps ensure support is consistent, responsive, and tailored to changing needs over time.
Yes. Residents can access our Allied Health services, tailored to support their individual goals and wellbeing, the team can discuss the differing options of on-site visits and Telehealth.
Residents are supported to access a General Practitioner in the community.
