Peter James

Board Director

Peter James, WMQ Board Member

Peter is highly experienced in organisational leadership and governance, with a distinguished career in both the corporate and not-for-profit sectors.

For more than 15 years, he was a partner of leading law firm Allens, advising particularly in telecommunications and technology aspects of mergers and acquisitions. As CEO, he led a large Christian not-for-profit for more than a decade, including through a process of mergers to become a national ministry of more than 10,000 staff and active volunteers.

In mid-2024 Peter founded a consultancy which journeys with boards and leaders in key decision making, governance and leadership excellence, and strategic formation.

Peter has long admired Wesley Mission Queensland’s empowerment and support of the vulnerable, and the Christian heart from which that emanates, and feels deeply honoured to be serving the people and clients of Wesley Mission through the board.
