Around 1953, Gordon Turnbull worked as Projectionist at the heritage-listed Paragon Theatre in Childers. Now almost 70 years on, 83-year-old Gordon took a surprise trip down memory lane and revisited the Paragon Theatre.

Meet Donna, an Enrolled Nurse and a Workplace Coach for Wesley Mission QLD’s Kentish Court aged care community within Sinnamon Village at Sinnamon Park.
At 57 years of age, Jackie suffered a stroke during open heart surgery and went from living an independent life at home with her family to living in aged care home. Jackie has since moved into WesleyCare Wynnum, Specialist Disability Accommodation.
The staff are wonderful here. They’ve been so supportive. When you are having issues with pain or you are sad, they’re there for you and they’re lovely. They seem to work well as a team and I can’t speak highly enough of them.
Today marks International Volunteer Day, an official date designated by the United Nations to say thank you and to recognise the importance of volunteers in our communities.
We feel so lucky to have gone with Wesley Mission Queensland and especially to have been assigned Donna as our Care Leader.
