Man standing in front of transport

At my age and due to the COVID crisis, l had two options open to me, (1) to sit back and receive Jobseeker or (2) get out there and give back to the world. I chose the second option as l have been fortunate in life and l felt it was time to give back.

Volunteering is rewarding in so many ways, the smile on clients faces when you pick them up, the hugs of gratitude when you make them feel special. Listening to their stories and always learning something new.

Overall, it’s the little things in people’s life, many clients do not interact with many others because of the current COVID-19 crisis. As volunteers we are sometimes the only people they see other than their Doctors or where ever they are needing to go.

My aim as a volunteer is to get every client to laugh and smile.
