Wesley Arts brightens up Brisbane with live mural painting
Wesley Arts brought their creative flair to Queen St Mall this week, giving the public a unique opportunity to add their touch to a vibrant mural celebrating community and connection.
The 5-metre mural was designed by local artist Sue Loveday in collaboration with Wesley Arts participants, and was created around the theme Making Waves, chosen to reflect the different ways people make waves in their own lives.
Throughout the day, Wesley Arts facilitators, participants and volunteers worked alongside members of the public who relished the chance to join in and help bring the mural to life. They painted to a soundtrack of live music by Wesley Arts musician Tim Jackman.

WMQ’ s Executive Leadership Team also lent their support, visiting the live community painting event and getting in on the fun.
It was a wonderful way to provide the community with firsthand experience of the positive effects of the Arts and to share information about Wesley Arts programs. The completed artwork will now be crafted into furniture to be sold, with profits going back to Wesley Arts. Check out the photo gallery below.
